Tangsel Revenue Agency Addresses Residents' PBB SPPT Bills Already Paid but Charged Again

South Tangerang, Kompas.com — The South Tangerang City Revenue Agency (Bapenda) has explained the reason behind the reappearance of old bills in the Land and Building Tax for Rural and Urban Areas (PBB-P2) Notification Letters (SPPT). According to them, these bills originate from old receivables that are still recorded administratively in the system. Head of Bapenda Tangsel, Eki Herdiana, stated that the SPPT is a letter containing the amount of tax due on a tax object, including data on receivables still recorded administratively. He explained that these old receivables remain listed in the system because payment has not been made or the requirements for deletion have not been met in accordance with applicable provisions. “Administratively, these receivables remain recorded in the PBB-P2 database until payment is made or until the receivables are deleted,” he said. Currently, Bapenda is conducting gradual data collection and verification of tax data, including old receivables still listed in the SPPT. This data collection covers registration, collection, billing, and verification of receivables for each tax object. “Everything is carried out in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in administering taxation,” Eki said. Bapenda also provides services for taxpayers who feel they have fulfilled their obligations but are still recorded as having arrears. Residents experiencing this situation are asked to submit proof of payment so that re-recording can be done in the system via the official Bapenda Tangsel WhatsApp at 0878-3548-4000 or by coming directly to the Bapenda Tangsel Office in Cilenggang. He added that these steps are taken to improve the quality of tax data for greater accuracy. “We are conducting massive data collection to improve the quality of tax data,” he further said.
