Tangerang's office project

JAKARTA (JP): Tangerang regency's new office project, currently being constructed in Tigaraksa, is expected to be completed by March next year.

Tangerang regency's spokeswoman Ena Karlina was quoted by Kompas yesterday as saying that the construction of the project was part of the regency's plan to relocate all administration activities to Tigaraksa from its current location.

"The relocation of the regency's activities is in line with the separation of the Tangerang mayoralty and regency in 1993," Ena said.

She said that the regency's public services would gradually be relocated to Tigaraksa after all buildings and facilities were ready.

The development of buildings at Tigaraksa was mostly financed by the city administration, Ena said.

"The project, developed on a 3,000-hectare plot of land, cost around Rp 13 billion (US$5.3 million)," Subiyanto, an executive of the company in charge of the project, said. (cst)
