Tangerang Resident Claims Intimidation by Debt Collectors, Moladin Responds
PT Moladin Finance Indonesia has provided clarification regarding allegations of intimidation by debt collectors against Muhamad Rizki Romdani (30), a resident of Pasar Kemis, Tangerang Regency. Rizki claimed he was approached by several individuals identifying as debt collectors while returning home from a fast-food restaurant in the Pasar Kemis area on Tuesday (21/4/2026) around 11:00 WIB. The company stated that the vehicle in dispute is collateral for a financing agreement still bound by a credit contract, and its handling has been pursued through legal channels. The company noted that the obligations under the financing facility have not been fulfilled. Resolution efforts have been undertaken gradually since April 2025 through persuasive approaches and applicable legal mechanisms. “Based on the company’s investigation, the collateral object has been transferred to the possession of a third party without the company’s approval as the fiduciary recipient and holder of the collateral ownership documents,” the company wrote. In response to this situation, the company has also pursued legal processes through the court and claims to have obtained an execution seizure order as the basis for further legal action regarding the vehicle. The company emphasised that all debt collection or asset securing actions must be conducted in accordance with legal provisions. They also stated that they do not tolerate threats or intimidation in the field. “The company does not tolerate threats, intimidation, or other actions contrary to the law, and will conduct evaluations if there are suspicions of violations in the field,” the company wrote. Rizki said the incident began while he was having coffee with his wife in the Pasar Kemis area before being approached by around five people claiming to be third parties from the financing company who wanted to tow the car he was using. According to Rizki, he had explained that the vehicle was under his lawful possession. However, he claimed the debt collectors insisted on taking the car. “I already explained the details of the case, including the evidence I have. But they still insisted on taking my car,” he said. The situation then heated up. Rizki claimed the debt collectors intimidated him, from hitting the car to hurling abusive words in a public place.
