Tangerang Regent Prohibits Civil Servants from Using Official Vehicles for Eid Travel
Tangerang Regent Maesyal Rasyid has prohibited state civil servants (ASN) under the Tangerang Regency Government (Pemkab) from using official vehicles for personal interests, including travel home for the 2026 Eid holiday.
Maesyal stated that the policy implementation ensures official vehicles remain used according to their intended purpose as government operational facilities.
“We are restricting and prohibiting employees from using official vehicles to return to their villages,” said Maesyal on Thursday (12 March).
He explained the ban applies to all civil servants within the Tangerang Regency Government, from heads of regional organisational units (OPD) down to apparatus at the sub-district and village levels.
According to him, the regional government will shortly issue a decision letter regulating the use of official vehicles during the Eid holiday period.
“Hopefully it will run smoothly. The civil servants who travel home can do so safely and healthily, and their return journey will also be safe and healthy,” he expressed.
Additionally, Maesyal stressed that Tangerang Regency Government ensures basic services to the public continue operating during the Eid holiday period. Service delivery tasks have been arranged by each OPD leadership.
Several services that will remain on standby include healthcare services at health centres and hospitals, sanitation services, security by Civil Police (Satpol PP), and traffic management by the Transportation Department.
“The tasks have been arranged by each OPD head, such as healthcare at health centres and hospitals, waste management personnel, Civil Police for security, and the Transportation Department,” he affirmed.
