Tangerang Regent Maesyal Rasyid Urges Residents to Strengthen Silaturahmi During Ramadan

INFO NASIONAL – The Tangerang Regent, Moch Maesyal Rasyid, has urged residents to strengthen silaturahmi and unity during Ramadan 1447 Hijriah. The appeal was made during a Tarawih Keliling (Tarling) event at Masjid Nurul Hidayah Graha Lestari, Melar Bakti urban village, Panongan district, on Tuesday, 3 March 2026.

In his address, Maesyal emphasised the importance of maintaining togetherness and social concern, especially in the Graha Lestari housing estate. He said that communal harmony is the foundation of the region’s progress.

“If the residents are harmonious, united, and caring, God willing they will be more advanced and prosperous,” he said.

He regards religious activities such as congregational tarawih prayers not merely as routine worship, but as spaces to strengthen ties between the government, ulama, community leaders, and residents. The closeness, he said, can erase communication barriers between leaders and the public.

On that occasion, Maesyal also responded to the aspiration of the RW Chief regarding the need to install a canopy in the area outside the mosque to shelter worshippers from rain. He described the proposal as a “homework” for the local government.

“God willing, together with Baznas, we will strive so that that desire can be realised for the comfort and tranquillity of the worshippers,” he said.

Maesyal hopes that improvements to worship facilities and infrastructure can boost the community’s piety during Ramadan. He closed his remarks by wishing all residents of Tangerang Regency a blessed fasting period, while praying for blessings, health, and the safeguarding of silaturahmi within the community.

He also expressed appreciation for the warm reception from residents and the management of Masjid Nurul Hidayah, and he hoped that the solidarity formed could become a social capital in building Tangerang Regency.
