Tangerang Regency WFH Policy for Civil Servants Starts 10 April, Not Applicable to All Employees

Tangerang Regency government will implement a work-from-home (WFH) policy for civil servants (ASN) every Friday starting from 10 April 2026. Regent of Tangerang Regency, Maesyal Rasyid, stated that the policy is currently being prepared through a circular that will be signed at the beginning of next week. “Yes, (starting) next week. Now tomorrow Friday is a holiday. So on Monday (6/4/2026) the circular will start being signed,” Maesyal said in his statement on Thursday (2/4/2026). The reason is that ASN directly involved in public services will continue working on Fridays, while the rest will WFH. “For OPDs that directly serve the public or interact with the community, they will remain full,” he said. ASN in Tangerang Regency serving in public sectors are spread across community health centres, regional general hospitals (RSUD), sub-district offices, Population and Civil Registration Office (Disdukcapil), Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), up to licensing services. Meanwhile, the remaining 50 percent of ASN not directly involved in public services will follow the policy. During the WFH implementation, heads of regional device organisations (OPD) are required to conduct strict supervision of ASN performance. One measure will be conducting attendance twice a day for ASN undergoing WFH, namely at the start of work at 07.30 WIB and at the end of work at 16.00 WIB. In addition, ASN are required to remain at home during working hours, except for urgent needs. “We instruct them to work from home so they don’t go anywhere, don’t use fuel, whether by motorbike or four-wheeled vehicle or car,” he said. For ASN who violate, sanctions will be imposed gradually, starting from verbal reprimands, written reprimands, to administrative sanctions. Previously, the central government set a WFH policy for ASN one day per week, namely every Friday.
