The Tangerang Regency Government in Banten has issued a policy reducing civil servant (ASN) working hours during the holy month of Ramadan 2026.

The circular letter does not yet address the Work from Anywhere (WFA) mechanism that the central government has been considering in preparation for the Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return traffic flows.

Beni Rahmat, Head of the Tangerang Regency Civil Service and Human Resources Agency (BKPSDM), said that ASN working hours during Ramadan are set from 08:00 WIB to 15:00 WIB.

"Meanwhile, the break period is from 12:00 WIB to 12:30 WIB for Monday through Thursday," Beni said on Wednesday (18 February).

Under this arrangement, the total effective working hours for civil servants during Ramadan will be approximately 32 hours and 30 minutes per week across five working days. Beni stressed that the adjusted working hours would not disrupt public services.

"For technical service units or public-facing services, they will make the necessary adjustments," he affirmed.

Additionally, Beni said the Tangerang Regency Government plans to implement a WFA scheme during the Eid al-Fitr homecoming and return period. However, the policy is still pending directives from the central government and the Tangerang Regent.

"The WFA arrangement has not yet been formalised. We are still awaiting instructions from the Tangerang Regent," he explained.
