Tangerang Public Works Department Completes Resurfacing of Mudik Route Roads
Tangerang — The Department of Public Works and Spatial Planning (PUPR) of Tangerang City, Banten, has confirmed that asphalt resurfacing work at multiple damaged road sections has been completed to support preparedness during the Eid mudik traffic period.
Iwan Nursyamsu, Head of Operations and Maintenance at Tangerang City’s Public Works and Spatial Planning Department, stated on Saturday that the authority had moved swiftly to repair numerous damaged road locations.
Several sections undergoing repairs include Imam Bonjol Road, which serves as a connecting route between Merdeka Road (Pantura Road/Tangerang-Serang) and Legok-Karawaci Road (Tangerang City–Tangerang Regency). Additional repairs were conducted on Rasuna Said Road in Pinang, Puri Beta Road in Larangan, Aria Wangkasara Road in Jatiuwung, Pajajaran Road in Jatiuwung, Suryadarma Road in Neglasari, Husein Sastranegara Road in Benda, Raya Bayur Road in Periuk, H. Mansur Road in Ciledug, and HOS Cokroaminoto Road in Ciledug.
“Repairs using hotmix patching methods were conducted on road sections already in severely deteriorated conditions that posed risks to road users,” explained Iwan.
Earlier, Tangerang Mayor Sachrudin confirmed that road repairs, particularly on mudik routes, would be completed one week before Eid al-Fitr. “Tangerang City Administration is targeting the road improvement project to be finished at the latest one week before Eid al-Fitr,” the mayor stated.
He noted that Tangerang’s Public Works Department had undertaken road repairs since the beginning of the year and intensified efforts ahead of the Eid holiday period. This follows up on a coordination meeting with the Banten Provincial Government that aimed to complete road improvement projects promptly.
“Road infrastructure for smooth mudik traffic during Eid is our priority, especially as Tangerang City serves as a transit route for holidaymakers heading to Merak and West Java,” he concluded.
