The Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Tangerang City Police has thwarted the circulation of 27,121 unlicensed List G prescription pills. In the case, police arrested three dealers along with evidence of tens of thousands of hard drugs.

Tangerang City Police Chief Senior Commissioner Andi Muhammad Indra Waspada Amirullah stated the first case was uncovered on Saturday (20/6/2026) in Sindang Panon Village, Pasar Kemis District, after residents reported a disturbing circulation of prescription pills.

Following an investigation, officers apprehended a man with the initials M. During a search, officers found evidence including 1,050 tramadol pills, 1,014 hexymer pills in clip-sealed plastic packaging, and 24,000 hexymer pills packed in 24 bottles.

“All of the evidence was hidden inside the motorcycle seat of the suspect. M admitted that all the prescription pills belonged to him and were intended for distribution,” he said.

Meanwhile, the second case was uncovered on Tuesday (23/6) at a rented house in Kampung Mekar Bakti, Mekar Bakti Village, Panongan District. This case also came to light thanks to public reports regarding the rampant circulation of tramadol and hexymer in the area.

Following up on the information, the Tangerang City Police Narcotics Operations Team conducted an investigation until they eventually raided the rented house suspected of being used as a storage place for the drugs.

During the raid, police arrested a man with the initials E. While searching a wardrobe in the rented house, police found 67 tramadol pills, 990 hexymer pills, and a pack of clear clip-sealed plastic.

“As well as a black plastic bag used to package the drugs,” Indra Waspada detailed.

To the police, E admitted to working with his colleague, identified as MM. Shortly after, police conducting further investigation managed to arrest MM in front of a shop house not far from the raid location.

“Suspects E and MM admitted to having been trading these List G prescription pills for approximately two months in the Panongan District area,” he said.

“The total number of prescription pills seized from the two cases is 27,121,” he stated.

Indra Waspada stressed that these disclosures are part of the Tangerang City Police’s commitment to combating the abuse of narcotics and dangerous drugs, especially coinciding with the momentum of International Anti-Drug Day (HANI) commemorated every 26 June.

“These disclosures have at least saved 9,000 lives from potential prescription drug abuse, assuming three pills can be consumed by one person,” he said.
