Tangerang police arrest youth with eight cannabis packages and alcohol in Cipta Kondisi operation
A 21-year-old youth identified as S was apprehended during a Cipta Kondisi operation conducted by the Tangerang City Police on Imam Bonjol Street, in front of Victoria Park/Ligamas housing complex in Tangerang, Banten.
The suspect was taken to the Tangerang City Police headquarters after officers discovered eight packages of ready-to-sell cannabis and various illegal alcoholic beverages, including ciu and arak, in his possession.
Kombes Raden Muhammad Jauhari, Tangerang City Police Chief, confirmed the arrest, stating the suspect and evidence had been handed over to the Narcotics Unit for further investigation.
“The suspect and evidence have been secured and handed over to the Narcotics Unit for further investigation,” said Kombes Raden Muhammad Jauhari on Thursday (28 May).
The police chief explained that the arrest began during routine patrols of the Cipta Kondisi operation in areas deemed prone to street crime and motorcycle theft. While monitoring Imam Bonjol Street, officers became suspicious of a white Yamaha Mio motorcycle rider.
After stopping and conducting a body and vehicle search, officers found the evidence hidden in the suspect’s blue shoulder bag.
“Officers discovered eight brown paper packages containing cannabis and alcoholic beverages, including ciu and arak, inside the suspect’s shoulder bag,” he added.
Based on initial questioning, the suspect admitted obtaining the illegal substances from a person named Rifki in South Tangerang, with plans to resell them to an individual identified as A in Tangerang City.
“The suspect is currently detained for further processing, and the case is being expanded to target higher-ups in the network,” the police chief stressed.
Patrols and the Cipta Kondisi operation will continue to be intensified regularly to reduce street crime, narcotics trafficking, gang violence, and other social ills within Tangerang City’s jurisdiction, Kombes Raden Muhammad Jauhari stated.
He also urged the public to proactively safeguard community safety, advising residents to report suspicious activities immediately via the Polri hotline at 110, particularly concerning narcotics and illegal alcohol.
The Cipta Kondisi operation commenced at 1:00 AM WIB until just before dawn.
The Tangerang City Police arrested 36 criminal suspects in May 2026, with 30 involved in a motorcycle theft syndicate armed with homemade firearms.
According to Police Public Relations Officer AKP Prapto Lasono, the absence of BS at the first examination was communicated by his legal representative.
He stated that based on the case conference conducted by investigators, Bahar bin Smith’s status was elevated from reported to suspect.
Evidence seized from the teenagers included various bladed weapons such as celurit and kelewang, mobile phones and motorcycles.
