Tangerang nugget and sausage factory fire still burning as firefighting teams battle blaze

Tangerang, Kompas.com - A fire at a nugget and sausage factory in the Cikupa area of Tangerang Regency, Banten, has not yet been fully extinguished as of 4:32 PM WIB on Thursday (28 May 2026). Tangerang Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) head Achmad Taufik said firefighting teams are still working to extinguish remaining fire points. ’ The teams are still in the process of putting out the fires and await further on-site updates,’ Taufik told Kompas.com via WhatsApp on Thursday. The incident was first reported by local residents at 3:01 AM via Tangerang Regency’s 112 hotline. ’ Due to the extensive area affected and the accumulation of burning materials, the team faced difficulties in extinguishing the blaze,’ he said. However, he remains unclear on the exact size of the affected area as his team focuses on firefighting first. ’ Further details on this matter arepending on-site information,’ he added. Tangerang Regency BPBD deployed seven fire units from various regions. The units include one each from Pasar Kemis and Tigaraksa fire departments, two from Mako Curug, one from Balaraja, Rajeg and Kelapa Dua fire departments.
