Tangerang nugget and sausage factory fire: police to question witnesses on Tuesday

Police are still investigating the cause of a fire at a nugget and sausage factory owned by PT Adik Mart/CCK in Telaga Village, Cikupa District, Tangerang Regency. As of Saturday, 30 May 2026, investigators are awaiting results from the Forensic Laboratory Centre (Puslabfor) to confirm the cause of the fire that destroyed part of the factory. Tangerang Police Public Relations Officer Ipda Sandro Tree Bahara said the flames have been extinguished, but the investigation is ongoing. He added that besides questioning witnesses, investigators are waiting for forensic lab results to determine the fire’s cause. ‘For the fire’s cause, we are still awaiting the Puslabfor results. The official conclusion regarding the cause will be based on the analysis and examination from Puslabfor,’ he said. However, the current suspicion remains provisional until police investigation results are finalised. ‘Tentative cause is an electrical short circuit,’ said Tangerang Regency BPBD Chief Achmad Taufik on Friday, 29 May 2026. Achmad explained that firefighting efforts faced challenges due to the large affected area and the high volume of flammable materials inside the factory. ‘Due to the extensive burning area and the accumulation of combustible materials, the team encountered difficulties in extinguishing the fire,’ he added.
