The circulation of illegal hard drugs in the Tangerang City area remains a serious threat. The Tangerang Metro Police, through the Batuceper Sector Police, have once again uncovered the sale of these prohibited substances after previously dismantling a large network in the Poris area.

The case began with a stationary raid conducted by Batuceper Sector Police officers to anticipate disturbances to public security and order on Jalan Garuda, Batujaya Village, Batuceper District, in the early hours of Sunday (14/6). During the operation, officers became suspicious of a Honda Beat motorcycle rider with the number plate B 4193 BNR, identified by the initials MNE, aged 19. Upon searching the individual, police found several pills of hard drugs in his possession.

Tangerang Metro Police Chief, Senior Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari, explained that officers immediately conducted further investigation based on MNE’s information. As a result, police apprehended a dealer with the initials FU, aged 32, at a grocery shop on Jalan Halim Perdana Kusuma, Kebon Besar Village, Batuceper District. Officers seized a number of items from FU that strengthened the suspicion of illegal pharmaceutical practices.

Senior Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari stressed that his department will not tolerate the circulation of unlicensed hard drugs within its jurisdiction. He stated that this crime severely damages public health, especially targeting the younger generation.

“The circulation of unlicensed hard drugs is a form of crime that must be dealt with firmly. We urge the public not to consume medication without a medical prescription and to report immediately if they become aware of similar practices in their neighbourhood,” the Police Chief said on Thursday (18/6).

The police confirmed they will continue to develop the case to cut off the supply chain and uncover larger networks above the two arrested suspects.
