Tangerang Mayor's Daughter Allegedly Victim of Smash-and-Grab Theft, Police Investigate

The daughter of Tangerang Mayor Syachrudin, Ika Lestari, has allegedly become a victim of a smash-and-grab theft in Buaran, Tangerang City. A bag containing valuables left inside the car was stolen by the perpetrator. In a viral video, a black car is seen with its left window smashed, with glass shards scattered on the seat beside the driver’s seat. It was stated that the victim is the child of the Tangerang Mayor. The theft reportedly occurred while the victim was attending an event in Buaran Indah, Tangerang City. Her parked car was found with the left side window broken. Acting Head of Public Relations for the Tangerang City Metro Police, AKP Iwan Heristiawan, confirmed the incident. He said the victim has reported the case to the police. “The victim has reported it via 110,” Iwan said when confirmed. He was responding to the case of the smash-and-grab theft against the Tangerang Mayor’s child that went viral on social media. He said his party is currently investigating the case. “Currently, an investigation is being conducted by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Resort Police,” he added.
