Tangerang Mayor Appreciates Launch of Transjabodetabek Route Blok M-Soetta
Transjakarta has officially added a new route to Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang City, Banten, following the launch of the Transjabodetabek SH2 Blok M - Soekarno Hatta service. The launch was inaugurated by Jakarta’s Governor, Pramono Anung, at the Blok M Terminal in Jakarta.
This new route has been added to five previously existing Transjakarta routes: Poris Plawad - Petamburan, Poris Plawad - Juanda, Ciledug - Tegal Mampang, Puri Beta - Pancoran, and Puri Beta - Flyover Kuningan.
Tangerang Mayor Sachrudin, who attended the inauguration ceremony, expressed his appreciation for the new Transjakarta route launch. He noted that the new route will significantly ease access for the public, particularly holiday travellers heading to Soekarno Hatta Airport ahead of the forthcoming Eid holiday exodus.
“This will certainly enrich and facilitate access for residents across the Jabodetabek region to reach Soekarno Hatta International Airport located in Tangerang City,” Sachrudin stated in a written statement on Thursday (12 March 2026).
Additionally, Sachrudin hoped that the new route would help reduce congestion entering or leaving Tangerang City. “In the mornings, a large proportion of Tangerang’s residents travel to the capital for work. Moreover, Tangerang is a transit city crossed by the Jakarta-Merak toll route, Soekarno-Hatta Airport, and national roads including Daan Mogot and Gatot Subroto streets,” Sachrudin explained.
“Therefore, we hope that with the launch of Transjabodetabek Blok M - Soekarno Hatta, congestion will be minimised,” Sachrudin said.
Sachrudin also reaffirmed that Tangerang City Government is ready to support the development of transport connectivity in the Jabodetabek agglomeration area, including through collaboration with the central government, provincial government, and transport operators.
“For this reason, we continue to encourage cross-regional collaboration to ensure that the public transport system becomes more integrated, thereby providing wider benefits to the public,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Governor Pramono announced at his press conference that bus fares on this route will be set at Rp3,500 per journey for the first three months.
“Particularly in welcoming Eid and during the three-month trial period, Jakarta Provincial Government will continue to evaluate fares,” Pramono stated.
The Transjabodetabek SH2 Blok M - Soekarno Hatta route will stop at 23 points with a journey duration of approximately 121 minutes. The route covers a distance of at least 65.1 kilometres, operates a fleet of 14 buses, and has a headway interval of approximately 10 to 20 minutes.
