A man identified as S was detained by police after being found with several packages suspected to be cannabis in the Imam Bonjol area of Tangerang City. The suspect allegedly intended to sell the cannabis for Rp 100,000 at the time of his arrest.

The arrest occurred during Operations Cipta Kondition (Ops Cipkon) conducted by the Tangerang Kota Metro Police on Thursday (28/5/2026) in the early hours. The operation began with a readiness muster led by Kompol James Herizanto, involving 49 combined personnel at the Presisi building parade grounds of the Metro Tangerang Kota Police headquarters.

officers then conducted patrols and operations on several roads deemed prone to public order disturbances, including Perintis Kemerdekaan, Tanah Gocap, Imam Bonjol, Teuku Umar, and Jenderal Sudirman roads.

‘At approximately 01:35 WIB, officers stopped a white Yamaha Mio motorcycle rider in the Imam Bonjol area, specifically in front of Victoria Park/Ligamas housing estate,’ said Tangerang Kota MetroPolice Chief Commissioner Raden Muhammad Jauhari in his statement on Thursday (28/5).

During the inspection, police found eight brown paper packets suspected to contain cannabis in the suspect’s blue crossbody bag. They also discovered nine pre-rolled joints suspected to be cannabis and two bottles of illegally distilled spirits (ciu and arak).

‘Based on preliminary investigations, S admitted that the prohibited substances were intended to be resold for Rp 100,000 to a person named Agil,’ he added. ‘He also stated that he obtained the substances from a man named Rifky in South Tangerang on Wednesday evening,’ he continued.

The suspect and seized evidence have been handed over to the narcotics unit for further investigation. ‘I urge the public to actively safeguard their communities and immediately report suspicious activities, particularly related to narcotics and illegal alcohol, via the Polri hotline at 110,’ he concluded.
