Tangerang hospital has VIP pavilion

JAKARTA (JP): Tangerang regent H. Saifullah AR yesterday inaugurated a VIP pavilion in the complex of the town's general hospital.

The construction of the pavilion, called the Wijaya Kusuma Pavilion, was jointly financed by the hospital and PT Menara Mutiara. The private company invested Rp 1 billion in the facility, built on a 6,000 meter plot of land.

Hospital sources told The Jakarta Post that the hospital and the company will split profits from the pavilion for 10 years. After 10 years the pavilion will belong to the Tangerang administration, the sources said.

The pavilion has 31 fully air-conditioned VIP rooms which are also equipped with television sets and telephones.

In his speech regent Saifullah hailed the construction of the pavilion as part of the hospital's efforts to improve its medical services to the public.

He said as a state-run hospital, the hospital should continue to improve its medical and social services to the public.

"I have no doubt that the VIP rooms at the pavilion offer the same comfort as those in private hospitals," Saifullah said.

On Dec. 15, 1993, the Tangerang general hospital was promoted from category C to B by the ministry of health for its remarkable improvements in medical services.

At present the hospital has 97 full-time doctors, including 46 specialists, and a total of 337 nurses. (18/bas)
