Tangerang Regency (ANTARA) - The Hajj and Umrah Ministry (Kemenhaj) of Tangerang Regency, Banten, has recorded at least 214 prospective hajj pilgrims in the area who have cancelled their pilgrimage to the Holy Land this year.

The Head of Kemenhaj Tangerang Regency, Abdullah Hasyim, in Tangerang on Monday, stated that from these hundreds of prospective pilgrims, the cancellations were due to inability to pay the hajj travel fee (BPIH).

According to him, the current number of Tangerang Regency prospective pilgrims scheduled to depart on 26 April 2026 is recorded at 2,228 souls, grouped in Flight Cluster 5 of the Cipondoh Hajj Dormitory Embarkation, Tangerang City, Banten.

He added that of the 2,228 who have paid the BPIH, 138 are departing from outside Tangerang Regency. Even so, the number of pilgrims departing through the cluster originating from Tangerang Regency is 2,090 people.

“So, in total, Tangerang Regency is only sending off 2,090 prospective pilgrims,” he said.

Based on the departure plan, from these 2,090 people, they will be sent off through Cipondoh Embarkation, starting with Cluster 5 of 385 souls.

“The departure of prospective hajj pilgrims from Tangerang Regency is divided into two waves with seven clusters until 19 May 2026. Next, Cluster 7 on 29 April 2026 with 384 prospective pilgrims,” he said.

Then, for Cluster 10 departing on 4 May 2026, with 385 prospective pilgrims. Meanwhile, the second wave departure of prospective hajj pilgrims starts with Cluster 12 on 7 May 2026, with 385 people.
