Tangerang Distributes Social Assistance to 2,924 Residents, Check Eligibility Criteria
The Tangerang City Government distributed Social Assistance Funds (BSU) for the 2026 fiscal year to 2,924 residents in 13 sub-districts. The distribution of this assistance aims to maintain community purchasing power and ease the economic burden on vulnerable residents in the lead-up to the holy month of Ramadan.
The Deputy Mayor of Tangerang, Maryono, directly monitored the distribution process in Pinang and Cipondoh sub-districts on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Maryono ensured that the distribution ran smoothly and reached the intended recipients, thanks to the rigorous verification conducted by Community Social Workers (PSM).
In this distribution, each beneficiary received assistance of Rp600,000, which was disbursed through Bank BJB. In Pinang sub-district, 238 recipients were recorded, while in Cipondoh sub-district, 359 residents received the benefit.
“The distribution of BSU is the Tangerang City Government’s commitment to easing the economic burden, especially during the holy month of Ramadan. We want the community to be able to carry out their worship in peace without being burdened by basic needs,” said Maryono during the monitoring visit.
The Head of the Tangerang City Social Service, Acep Wahyudi, explained that this BSU program targets six categories of people who fall into vulnerable groups. This is done to ensure that government intervention has a significant impact on reducing extreme poverty.
