Tangerang Dental Clinic Nurse Stabbed by Patient, Sustains Abdominal and Hand Injuries

TANGERANG, KOMPAS.com – A dental clinic nurse identified as P was stabbed by patient MA at Total Persada Residence in Periuk, Tangerang City, sustaining abdominal and hand injuries.

Chief Inspector Rabiin, head of Jatiuwung Police Station, said the victim is currently receiving treatment at Tangerang Regency General Hospital. ‘Injuries to the abdomen and hand. She is currently being treated at Tangerang Regency General Hospital,’ Rabiin told Kompas.com via WhatsApp on Monday, 1 June 2026.

‘The victim is still receiving treatment. A check-up this afternoon showed her condition is improving,’ he added.

The incident occurred on Saturday, 30 May 2026, when the suspect arrived at the clinic for a dental scaling procedure. After the dentist completed the treatment, the nurse took over. During the process, the suspect went to the bathroom. Upon entering the bathroom, he stabbed the nurse.

The incident caused a commotion among local residents and was reported to the police. Investigators are currently probing the suspect’s motive.

‘Currently, we are conducting further questioning as he sometimes remains silent during interrogation. We need to delve deeper, be cautious,’ Rabiin said.

The suspect, MA, told police he brought the knife used in the attack from home. ‘We are still investigating whether it was due to anger, pain during treatment, or other reasons,’ he added.
