Tangerang Communication and Informatics Office Intensifies Dissemination of PP Tunas Information

Tangerang (ANTARA) - The Tangerang City Communication and Informatics Office (Kominfo), Banten Province, is disseminating information massively to the public regarding the implementation of PP Tunas to protect the young generation from the negative impacts of the digital world. Head of the Tangerang City Communication and Informatics Office (Kominfo), Mugiya Wardhany, in Tangerang on Friday, stated that education has been and continues to be carried out through various government communication channels, from online media and print media to digital platforms such as Tangerang TV and the official Kominfo Office channel. “Since PP Tunas was issued, we immediately carried out massive socialisation. Information dissemination continues through various official platforms of the Tangerang City Government,” said Mugiya. She stated that the Tangerang City Government fully supports the implementation of PP Tunas Number 9 of 2026, which will begin to be applied on 28 March 2026. She assessed that restrictions on access to digital platforms such as Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok, and several online games like Roblox are strategic steps in creating a safer digital environment for children. However, the success of implementing PP Tunas does not only depend on the government. The active role of parents is considered very crucial in supporting the policy in the family environment. “We urge parents to actively participate in supervising children’s use of gadgets. When access is restricted, children also need to be given positive and enjoyable alternative activities so that they do not depend on the digital world,” she explained. “With collaboration between the government and families, it is hoped that children can grow and develop healthily, both in the real world and the digital world,” she said. Tangerang Mayor Sachrudin stated that the presence of PP Tunas is to protect children from negative content on social media. He explained that the future of children needs to be protected from digital developments that have negative impacts. Moreover, many children are already dependent on gadgets and find it difficult to interact socially. Therefore, after the issuance of PP Tunas, the Tangerang City Government will conduct discussions to create policies or regulations at the local level related to its implementation. “We will immediately discuss it together with relevant agencies so that it can be implemented to provide protection to the future generation,” he said.
