Tangerang City Police Chief Provides Support to Agista, the Young Artist Who Went Viral
The story of Agista Saputri, a young scavenger from Ciledug, Tangerang City, went viral on social media. Despite her limited economic circumstances, Agista chose not to become a beggar.
Agista helps her parents collect recyclable materials on a daily basis. She is often seen on the streets of Ciledug, offering her artwork to the public.
Agista’s struggle touched the hearts of the police force. The Chief of Tangerang City Police, Kombes Raden Muhammad Jauhari, specifically sent the Chief of Ciledug Police, Kompol Susida Aswida, to meet Agista.
In a small house in Kampung Parung Serab, Jalan Raden Fatah, Sudimara Selatan Village, Ciledug District, Agista lives with her parents. The Chief of Ciledug Police arrived to deliver aid from the Chief of Police in the form of rice, groceries, instant noodles, crayons, drawing books, and a sum of money.
Kombes Jauhari said that this aid is a form of empathy and concern from the Police towards the community, especially children who have spirit and talent in the midst of economic limitations.
“We were moved by Agista’s spirit. In the midst of difficult conditions, she still has dreams and continues to draw. This is what we must support together. The Police are here not only to maintain security, but also to foster hope,” said Kombes Jauhari on Wednesday (23/2/2026).
He hopes that the aid can be an encouragement for Agista to continue honing her talents and return to school to achieve her dreams.
“Hopefully, this can help ease the burden on the family and become a motivation for Agista to continue learning, going to school, and developing her talents. Children like this are our future,” he added.
A touching atmosphere was visible when the aid was handed over. Agista’s family expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the attention given.
