Tangerang City Government Teams Up with InJourney and Jasa Marga to Develop the Kunciran Interchange

The Tangerang City Government is committed to realising its vision of making Tangerang a progressive, sustainable business city based on an aerotropolis concept. One form of this is the signing of a memorandum of understanding with PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and PT Jasa Marga Persero Tbk along with its subsidiaries, held in the Patio Room, Tangerang City Hall, Banten, on Monday, 2 March 2026. The memorandum outlines cooperation for infrastructure development and urban planning, particularly in the area around Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, including the opening of toll road access linking Tangerang City and South Tangerang via Alam Sutera. The Kunciran Interchange modification will be integrated from the airport to Tangerang, including connectivity to the Sedyatmo Toll Road and the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road. The presence of these two toll road corridors is projected to contribute to accelerating economic growth in the Tangerang, Tangerang Selatan and surrounding areas, including Alam Sutera, which serves as a junction between Tangerang, Tangerang Selatan from Soetta and access to the Jakarta-Merak Toll Road. The Mayor of Tangerang, Sachrudin, said that through this collaboration, it is a strategic step to strengthen coordination and integration of services in terms of transport accessibility, job creation, area development, security, and comfort for airport users. The mayor added that the council hopes governance of transport and the environment in Tangerang will become more integrated to support regional economic growth in all aspects with the opening of new alternative routes to the airport or Merak that facilitate the public. In line with the city government’s programme, this strategic move is planned to commence in 2026.
