In support of the central government’s policy on energy efficiency, the Tangerang City Government has officially implemented Work From Home (WFH) for Civil Servants (ASN) every Friday. This policy follows instructions from the central government to enhance energy efficiency while encouraging adaptive digital work patterns.

Tangerang Deputy Mayor Maryono Hasan stated that WFH is not a holiday but a shift in work location. Discipline rules remain in effect, and public service operations continue normally to ensure maximum service to the community.

The Tangerang City Government has also prepared a multi-layered monitoring system. The Civil Service and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM), along with all Regional Device Heads, will monitor employees’ work locations in real-time through a digital attendance application.

Employees who violate the rules will receive disciplinary sanctions, ranging from warning letters to firm actions in accordance with regulations. “This WFH is in line with the central government’s directives for energy efficiency,” said Maryono on Monday (6/4).

Nevertheless, he added, ASN must continue to work with discipline and productivity, ensuring smooth public services. If any ASN violates the rules, they will face disciplinary sanctions.

The Tangerang City Government hopes this policy can serve as a pioneer in implementing digital work patterns, while contributing to future environmental sustainability.
