The Tangerang City Government, in partnership with PT Tangerang Nusantara Global (PT TNG), is providing free public transport services on Bus Tayo and Bus Si Benteng for residents today to commemorate the city’s 33rd anniversary.

“On 28 February 2026, all residents can enjoy Bus Tayo and Bus Si Benteng services free of charge across all operating corridors,” said PT TNG Director Muhamad Rijal in Tangerang on Saturday.

He stated that the programme represents appreciation for the community whilst encouraging greater patronage and use of public transport. The policy forms part of the city’s anniversary celebrations and reflects the company’s commitment to supporting safe, comfortable, and affordable public mobility.

“We are using the momentum of Tangerang’s 33rd anniversary to share happiness with the community. Through this programme, residents can travel using Bus Tayo and Si Benteng free of charge on 28 February,” he added.

Beyond celebrating the anniversary, the initiative is expected to raise public awareness about switching to public transport to reduce traffic congestion and air pollution in urban areas. With the spirit of the city’s 33rd anniversary, the programme aims to strengthen unity between government and community whilst promoting environmentally conscious lifestyles through mass transport usage.

“The Tangerang City Government invites all residents to utilise this service whilst maintaining order and adhering to regulations whilst aboard the buses,” he stated.

Tangerang Transportation Department Head Achmad Suhaely explained that Bus Tayo operates four corridors: Poris Plawad–GOR Jatiuwung–Jatake, Poris Plawad–Cibodas, Ciledug–Tangcity, and Cadas–Bandara Soetta Entrance M1. Each bus carries 25 to 30 passengers with a fare of Rp2,000 and uses cashless payment systems via QRIS or electronic cards.

Si Benteng is a city transport service serving feeder routes to Bus Tayo across nine routes serving residential areas. These vehicles feature air conditioning, music, CCTV, and automated doors, with a capacity of 12 passengers and cashless payment via QRIS and electronic cards.

“Both services charge Rp2,000 regardless of distance, operating from 05:00 to 18:30 WIB. All vehicles are equipped with GPS trackers for real-time monitoring. Passengers can also track Bus Tayo through the Trans Tangerang Ayo application for route information, nearest buses, stops, and journey guidance,” he explained.
