Tangerang City Government Introduces Local Tax Relief Programme
The Tangerang City Government has introduced an ‘Independence Day Discount’ programme, featuring local tax relief measures including a 45 per cent discount on Land and Building Transfer Duty (BPHTB), reductions in the principal amount of Land and Building Tax (PBB-P2), and the waiver of administrative fines.
Tangerang Mayor Sachrudin stated in Tangerang on Saturday that the programme, organised to commemorate the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, will run from 3 to 31 August 2026.
He explained that for the BPHTB programme, the Tangerang City Government is providing a 45 per cent reduction of the outstanding BPHTB principal based on the Value of Local Tax Objects (NPOPD). This facility is specifically available to residents who have obtained land certificates through government programmes, namely PRONA, PTSL, and PTKL, allowing them to settle their tax obligations more easily.
“We hope that members of the public who have received land certificates through the PRONA, PTSL, or PTKL programmes can take advantage of this opportunity. By fulfilling BPHTB obligations, the legality of land ownership becomes more complete and provides legal certainty for owners,” explained Sachrudin.
To qualify for this facility, taxpayers must be individuals who personally submit the calculation and payment of BPHTB and attach a stamped declaration (Rp10,000) stating that the NOPD is part of a certificate from the PRONA, PTSL, or PTKL programme and that the BPHTB for the object has not been previously paid.
Additionally, the Tangerang City Government is providing a 17 per cent reduction in the principal of PBB-P2 for Tax Payable Notices (SPPT) up to the 2014 Tax Year, and an 8 per cent reduction for SPPT from the 2015 to 2020 Tax Years. Furthermore, the public can benefit from the waiver of administrative sanctions in the form of fines on the principal tax for SPPT PBB-P2 issued up to the 2025 Tax Year.
“The taxes paid by the public will return in the form of infrastructure development, improved public services, education, health, and various programmes whose benefits are directly felt by the community. Therefore, the higher the tax compliance, the greater our contribution to supporting the development of Tangerang City,” he said.
Sachrudin urged eligible residents to utilise the programme before it expires, adding, “Do not miss this Independence Day Discount Party. Take advantage of the various tax reliefs prepared by the Tangerang City Government, and let us work together to build a culture of tax compliance to support a more advanced, prosperous, and competitive Tangerang City.”
