Tangerang City Government Collaborates with Ministry of Transportation to Strengthen Aerotropolis Concept
The Tangerang City Government continues efforts to refine the aerotropolis concept or integrated area in Tangerang by partnering with the Ministry of Transportation. This step aims to design the future development direction of Tangerang.
This was marked by the opening of the Development Planning Deliberation (Musrenbang) for the Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD) for 2027 by Deputy Mayor of Tangerang Maryono at the Al-Amanah Hall, Tangerang City Government Centre, on Tuesday (7/4/2026). This strategic event also featured the Director General of Transportation and Multimodal Integration of the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Transportation, M. Risal Wassal, as the keynote speaker, who presented on the development of cities based on integrated multimodal transportation.
Maryono stated that the Tangerang City Government will continue to optimise the strategic position of its region as a supporter and location of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
“Through this Musrenbang RKPD 2027 forum, we are focused on maturing the aerotropolis concept. We appreciate all stakeholders and community elements who have attended and provided constructive suggestions and input for the progress of Tangerang City in the future,” said Maryono in a written statement on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
Through collaboration between the central government, local government, and active community participation, the Musrenbang RKPD 2027 is expected to produce a comprehensive, adaptive, and responsive planning document to future global challenges.
As a form of appreciation and motivation to improve planning quality, the Tangerang City Government also awarded several Regional Apparatuses with the Best Work Plan (Renja) Quality for 2026. The awards were given to DP3AP2KB, Ciledug Sub-District, Health Service, Public Works and Spatial Planning Service (PUPR), and Culture and Tourism Service (Disbudpar).
“This awarding is expected to encourage healthy competition among Regional Apparatuses in compiling innovative programmes that directly impact the improvement of public welfare,” he said.
Meanwhile, full support was also conveyed by the Ministry of Transportation. Risal Wassal assessed that Tangerang City has a strong and directed development vision.
“Tangerang City is extraordinary because it already has a clear mission to become an Aerotropolis City. Its potential is being well prepared, and we are confident that the human resources it has can realise it. The Ministry of Transportation is ready to support this development, as long as the city’s development direction is designed meticulously,” he stated.
