Tanah Kusir hero cemetery

From Republika

A cemetery specifically designed for Indonesia's independence
pioneers and fighters has been officially opened at the Tanah
Kusir Public Cemetery (TPU Tanah Kusir), Jakarta. To be buried
there, one has to meet requirements similar to those applicable
to the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery, which means one has to be able
to demonstrate the required State Appreciation letters.

As a matter of fact, a small number of the local people who
claim to be the owners of the land currently used for the Tanah
Kusir Heroes Cemetery (TKHC) have since a couple of months ago
declared themselves to be the owners of TKHC, and accordingly
closed it. The closing could have been caused by a problem
arising between the developer and those people concerning
payment.

As next month we all will be celebrating National Independence
Day, a day when all commemorate those who died in the war as the
national heroes, I'd like to suggest all parties concerned --
since I do not know to whom to report this situation -- to settle
this case properly as a token of their appreciation to the
heroes, so that we can again have access to it: visiting the
graves as well as burying heroes on the coming National
Independence Day.
