Taman Brightspot 2026 Returns
The culinary, music, and lifestyle festival, Taman Brightspot 2026, is being held once again at Urban Forest Cipete, South Jakarta. The event, which spans two weekends—31 July to 2 August and 7 to 9 August 2026—features more than 120 curated tenants blending gastronomy, lifestyle brands, and creative communities within a single open space.
Anton Wirjono, founder of Brightspot and Future10, stated that Taman Brightspot is more than just a bazaar; it is a public space that connects the community with various economic actors within the creative economy. “Taman Brightscot continues to exist because we continue to listen to the community, the visitors, and the ever-changing city. A good public space is one where everyone feels welcome and leaves with connections and inspiration,” said Anton during the opening of Taman Brightspot 2026 at Urban Forest Cipete on Friday (31/7/2026).
According to Anton, last year’s event successfully attracted approximately 85,000 visitors. This year, he hopes to surpass that figure as public enthusiasm for community-based festivals increases.
He noted that the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in the food and beverage sector, is increasingly encouraging. The proliferation of various bazaars demonstrates that the quality of local products is now capable of competing with foreign goods.
“I am pleased to see MSMEs growing rapidly. Many bazaars are emerging now, and the quality of their products is no less than international products,” he remarked.
Anton added that Brightspot has also served as an incubator for several local brands that have since expanded rapidly. Some have successfully opened outlets in shopping malls and established numerous branches.
“We are happy when brands emerge from Brightspot and subsequently open in malls or grow into larger businesses. Some have even gone viral, such as Pitch+”, he said.
For this year’s event, the committee implemented a strict selection process for tenants. Out of approximately 500 applicants in the food category, only about 90 tenants passed the curation process.
“We chose foods that are suitable for enjoying in an open space, as this year’s theme is ‘picnic’,” said Anton.
Approximately 40 per cent of the participating tenants are new to Brightspot. In addition to offering a variety of culinary options, the festival features various lifestyle products, community activities, and musical performances by artists such as Pure Saturday, Andien, Batavia Collective, Aziz Hendra, and several others.
Co-Founder of BrightspotMRKT, Leonard Theosabrata, stated that the creative economy ecosystem can only thrive if diversity in ideas and talent is given space to grow. “Through the curation of music, art, culinary, and community activities, we want to provide a space that is open to anyone to create, collaborate, and provide a positive impact,” he said.
The organisers chose to return to Urban Forest Cipete as the venue because it provides a green space that is easily accessible to the public, including via the Cipete MRT Station. Anton encouraged visitors planning to attend Taman Brightspot to use the MRT rather than bringing their own vehicles.
