Talent-manager in communist hit list
MANILA (Reuter): A communist hit squad warned the woman who rigged a Philippine film awards ceremony that she had been added to their hit list, a local radio station said.
The communist Alex Boncayao Brigade issued the warning to talent manager Lolita Solis, one of seven people charged with fraud in arranging to falsely name Filipino beauty queen Ruffa Gutierrez and youthful star Gabby Concepcion as best actor and actress.
The 48-year-old talent manager said later on the same radio station she was prepared to die if that was to be her punishment.
"I'm just sorry that people I love, my children, have been dragged into this scandal," she said. "I'm scared, but I'm more scared about the future of my children," she added. Solis has two children.
The Alex Boncayao Brigade is a communist hit squad operating in Manila that is notorious for killing police, military and others they claim have committed grave sins against the people.
