BPJS Kesehatan has officially implemented new regulations for follow-up services starting this month. As of 1 June 2026, patients are required to arrive exactly on the date specified on their follow-up letter and are not permitted to arrive earlier than scheduled.

According to the Indonesia Information Portal, patients who arrive before their designated schedule will not receive follow-up services. This provision applies to all BPJS Kesehatan participants undergoing routine check-ups at healthcare facilities. This new rule aims to ensure that services are conducted in a more orderly and scheduled manner. Therefore, patients are advised to double-check the date on their follow-up letter before visiting a healthcare facility.

What happens if a patient is late? Patients arriving after their scheduled date can still be served, provided they make an online reservation one day in advance (H-1). It is essential to ensure reservations are made on time to ensure services remain accessible. For emergency patients, there is no need to follow the follow-up schedule; patients can proceed directly to the Emergency Room (IGD) for immediate medical attention.

Regarding premiums, despite rumours circulating on social media, BPJS Kesehatan has confirmed that there is no increase in National Health Insurance (JKN) premiums. The current monthly premiums for independent participants (PBPU) remain:

  • Class I: Rp 150,000

  • Class II: Rp 100,000

  • Class III: Rp 35,000 (after a government subsidy of Rp 7,000)

Additionally, health history screening is vital for detecting the risk of chronic diseases. Starting 6 March 2026, JKN participants who have not completed their 2026 health history screening will be required to do so before accessing services at their registered First Level Healthcare Facility (FKTP). Screening can be conducted via the Mobile JKN application, WhatsApp (Pandawa 08118165165), the BPJS Kesehatan Care Centre 165, the official website, or by visiting the registered FKTP directly.
