The government has established working hours for civil servants (ASN/PNS) during Ramadan 2026. As in previous years, there will be adjustments to ASN working hours during Ramadan in accordance with Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 21 of 2023 on Working Days and Working Hours for Government Agencies and ASN Personnel.

Based on a post from the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform’s (KemenPANRB) Instagram account, the following are the ASN working hours during Ramadan 2026:

Monday to Thursday - Working hours: 08:00–15:00 - Break: 30 minutes

Friday - Working hours: 08:00–15:30 - Break: 60 minutes

Details regarding working days and hours for ASN during Ramadan are determined by the respective Civil Service Management Officials (PPK) or heads of agencies. Working hours for government agencies and ASN personnel during Ramadan total 32.5 hours per week, excluding break times.

Points to Note

Work units within government agencies whose duties and functions involve providing operational support services to government agencies and/or direct services to the public shall have their working days and hours determined by the PPK or head of agency after obtaining consideration from the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform.

All government agencies and ASN personnel must ensure that public services continue to operate optimally and that performance targets are met.

ASN Permitted to Work from Anywhere During Eid 2026 Holiday

To support public mobility and the smooth delivery of public services during the national holiday and collective leave period for Eid 2026, the government has established adjustments to official duty arrangements in the form of work-from-anywhere (WFA) for ASN/PNS. There are five WFA days for ASN during the Eid 2026 holiday period.

Citing Circular Letter of the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform No. 2 of 2026 on Adjustments to the Implementation of ASN Official Duties During the National Holiday and Collective Leave Period for Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr 1447 H, the WFA schedule for ASN during the Eid 2026 holiday is as follows:

  • Monday, 16 March 2026
  • Tuesday, 17 March 2026
  • Wednesday, 25 March 2026
  • Thursday, 26 March 2026
  • Friday, 27 March 2026

It should be noted that these duty adjustments do not constitute additional holidays, but rather work arrangements based on public interest. Heads of agencies shall organise the implementation of ASN duties independently and selectively, in accordance with the characteristics of their duties and services.
