The Takbiran night celebrations for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah in Central Java took place safely and orderly. As of Friday (20/3) at 21:00 WIB, no significant incidents were found at 55 activity sites spread across various regions. The government, along with security apparatus, deployed thousands of combined personnel to ensure the smooth and secure running of this year’s Lebaran celebrations.

Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi, together with the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda) officials, conducted direct monitoring from the Integrated Eid al-Fitr 1447 H Service Post at the Semarang Police Headquarters in the Simpanglima area.

Also present were Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ribut Hari Wibowo, Diponegoro Regional Command Major General Achiruddin, Central Java Secretary Sumarno, Semarang Mayor Agustina Wilujeng, and representatives from other relevant agencies. Monitoring was also carried out via video conference with National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ribut Hari Wibowo stated that the security and public order situation (kamtibmas) during Takbiran night was monitored as conducive.

‘Takbiran night monitoring is quite safe and orderly, although there was light rain in Semarang City. We hope for clear weather and that tomorrow’s Eid Prayer runs devoutly,’ he said.

He added that during the mudik period up to Takbiran night, there were no prominent incidents. Only one firecracker case was recorded in the Semarang area, which has been handled, and one traffic accident on the Pemalang Toll Road.

This conducive condition is inseparable from the readiness of 11,800 combined personnel consisting of TNI, Police, Civil Service Police Unit, government agencies, to community organisations.

Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi reported to the National Police Chief that community activities remained under control, including roaming takbir activities allowed with security coordination.

‘We report that the situation in Central Java is safe. Simpanglima itself is not too crowded. Roaming takbir activities are still permitted with arrangements and coordination,’ he said.

Ahmad Luthfi also revealed that based on preliminary data up to 20 March 2026, the number of vehicles entering Central Java reached around 1.37 million units, while vehicles exiting were recorded at about 750,000 units.

‘Central Java remains the central hub of the national mudik flow, and there has been an increase compared to the previous year,’ he added.

The Central Java Provincial Government has taken various mitigation steps through cross-sectoral coordination, including traffic arrangements, road infrastructure readiness, tourist site security, and anticipation of potential disasters.

In addition, the availability of staple goods is maintained to ensure safety and avoid shortages during the Lebaran period. ‘We hope the kamtibmas situation remains maintained, including the stability of essential goods prices in society,’ said Ahmad Luthfi.

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo expressed appreciation for the synergy established among all Forkopimda elements in Central Java. This collaboration is the main key in maintaining security stability during the mudik and Eid al-Fitr celebration period.

‘Continue monitoring and strengthen cross-sectoral coordination, including with relevant ministries,’ he said.
