Takbir Processions in Sleman Restricted Until 11:00 PM WIB, Beyond That Prepare to Be Sent Home

The public is only permitted to conduct takbir keliling until 11:00 PM WIB. After that, officers will carry out blockades and advise groups to return home or to their starting points. Head of Operations for Sleman Police Resort, Masnoto, stated that this policy is a preventive measure to maintain security and public order, which often increases during takbir night. “After 11:00 PM WIB, we will conduct blockades. Any groups still circulating will be stopped and directed to turn back or return home,” he said on Thursday (19/3/2026). Masnoto explained that his side has mapped out several high-risk points that could potentially cause disturbances, such as along national roads and main routes, including Ring Road, Jalan Solo, Jalan Kaliurang, and Jalan Magelang. These areas are considered vulnerable because they are favourite routes for takbir keliling with high mass mobility.
