The Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP), Mardiono, has responded to a lawsuit filed by several PPP members against Secretary-General Taj Yasin and Deputy Chairman Agus Suparmanto. Mardiono stated that he will personally review the lawsuit. “I will try to check it first,” Mardiono told Kompas.com on Tuesday (19/5/2026). Mardiono admitted that he has been mediating the plaintiffs within the PPP’s internal dispute team. “We will attempt to conduct mediation if it is still possible,” he said. It is reported that the lawsuit was filed because Taj Yasin and Agus Suparmanto are perceived to have caused turmoil within the party. The plaintiffs are also questioning Agus Suparmanto’s status as a party member. Mardiono attributed the conflict to a lack of communication, stating, “It is due to a lack of communication, so there was no mutual clarification (tabayyun), leading each party to harbour prejudices.” Previously, several PPP members filed a lawsuit against PPP Central Executive Board Secretary-General Taj Yasin and Deputy Chairman Agus Suparmanto at the Central Jakarta District Court. The plaintiffs consist of members from various regions across Indonesia, including Eastern Indonesia, Java, and Sumatra.
