Taiwan is inviting innovators, startups, researchers, institutions, and organisations from various countries, including Indonesia, to develop health solutions through the ‘Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026’ campaign. The programme opens opportunities for collaboration by utilising Taiwanese technology and business models to produce innovations ready for application across various sectors. After being launched globally via a press conference in Taiwan on 27 May, Go Healthy with Taiwan 2026 officially began accepting proposals from innovators worldwide. The campaign encourages participants to leverage Taiwanese products, technology, and business models to develop widely applicable health and wellness solutions. Organised by the International Trade Administration (TITA) of Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and implemented by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), the campaign carries the theme ‘Designing a Better Health Future Together’. The programme’s focus includes smart healthcare, medical devices, sports and fitness technology, healthy ageing, and wellness. Through the programme, participants are encouraged to develop solutions that can be applied in communities, workplaces, cities, and various institutions by harnessing Taiwan’s technological capabilities. In the previous edition, the campaign exceeded its initial target of 100 proposals by collecting 638 proposals from 55 countries. This year, the organisers are introducing a Top 20 Mentorship Programme that provides finalists with guidance to refine business models, validate market opportunities, accelerate commercialisation, and strengthen international partnerships. The impact of the previous programme is already visible. In Ukraine, the winning team deployed Taiwanese medical equipment in several healthcare facilities and reinvested all prize money to expand equipment procurement and donate to hospitals. In Switzerland, Perovskia collaborated with Everlight Chemical, resulting in research published in the journal Nature, with pilot production from the partnership expected to begin in 2026. Meanwhile, in the United States, Ideas Lab worked with the Taiwan Institute of Sports Science (TISS) to apply AI-based motion analysis technology, expanding access to professional-standard sports training. Eligible participants can submit proposals through the official Go Healthy with Taiwan website. Proposals must be written in English and include an explanation of the proposed solution, expected impact, and integration of Taiwanese products, technology, services, or business models. Proposals will be assessed based on criteria set by the organisers. The deadline for submission is 5 August 2026 at 23:59 GMT+8, and submitted proposals cannot be altered after the process is complete. The three best proposals will each receive a prize of US$30,000. Additionally, 20 finalists will participate in mentoring sessions with industry experts, while six selected finalists will be invited on a sponsored visit to Taiwan to meet leading companies, explore Taiwan’s health innovation ecosystem, and compete in the final round. The global health sector is currently undergoing transformation through developments in AI, preventive healthcare, and technologies supporting longevity and improved quality of life. These developments open new opportunities in healthcare services, hospitality, insurance, workplace wellness, and sports science. With strengths in smart healthcare, digital health, and system integration, Taiwan offers various technologies that can be adapted for global market needs. In line with the acceleration of digital health transformation and the development of the wellness ecosystem in Indonesia, the campaign is expected to serve as a platform for developing ideas through collaboration with Taiwan.
