Taiwan wins gold at world cycling meet
KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP): Chang Shu-yin won the women's 16- kilometer points race Tuesday, giving Taiwan its first gold medal of the World Cycling B Championship.
Indonesia's Nuraini won the silver medal and Hong Kong's Alexander Yeung Ka Wah the bronze.
Host Malaysia stayed atop the medal standings when Masleeza Nordin won her nation's fourth gold, beating Taiwan's Chang in the three-kilometer individual pursuit. Nuraini was third.
Kazakstan captured its first gold when Sergey Tnetyakov won the men's 40-kilometer points race. Evgeniy Vakker of Kyrgyzstan was second and M. Kumaresan of Malaysia took the bronze. Kyrgyzstan is second in the medals race with three golds.
