Taiwan investors here
JAKARTA (JP): Two groups of Taiwanese investors are in Indonesia and hunting for local partners for a variety of capital ventures, the Taipei Economic and Trade Office said on Thursday.
Liu Tai-ying, an economic advisor to the Taiwanese president and also chief of the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research, is leading a group of 26 investors, while Vice Economic Minister Lee Shu-jou is leading the other group, consisting of 33 investors.
Members of the groups have interests in petroleum, electricity, sugar, fertilizers, petrochemicals, salt works, construction, cosmetics and technology sales.
Besides meeting with government officials, the two groups will also visit Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Bandar Lampung and Batam.
According to the office, Taiwan had invested US$4.03 billion in Indonesia as of the end of last year. (riz)
