TAILG Electric Motorcycles Accelerate Expansion in Indonesia
Bandung - The Chinese electric two-wheeler brand TAILG is accelerating its expansion in Indonesia’s automotive market. This expansion is officially marked by the Grand Launching and Dealer Recruitment Summit. The event, attended by a series of investors, distribution partners, and industry players from various regions in Indonesia, is not merely a product introduction but a strong signal that they are ready to compete in the rising environmentally friendly mobility segment. Moreover, the potential of the electric vehicle market in Indonesia is estimated to be worth trillions of rupiah. “Indonesia is one of the most active two-wheeler markets in the world and is a primary focus in the company’s global strategy,” said Chen in a press release received by Kompas.com on Friday (27/3/2026). This will be realised through technological innovation, quality product supply, and the establishment of a solid distribution system together with local partners. The long-term ambition is to make Indonesia the centre of their business in the ASEAN region. “Going forward, we hope to bring more advanced technology and quality products to Indonesia, grow together with local partners, and make Indonesia an important base to reach all of Southeast Asia,” emphasised Chen. At the event, participants’ enthusiasm peaked during the test ride session. Prospective dealers and investors had the opportunity to directly try out the various TAILG product lines. The main highlights were on the stylish vehicle design, motorcycle performance, and claims of capable battery range. “TAILG was founded in Shenzhen in 2003, and its products have been exported to more than 70 countries,” he explained. TAILG is even recorded as a partner in the United Nations’ electric mobility project and holder of the Guinness record for the electric scooter with the longest range. Currently, they operate seven research and manufacturing bases in various countries, including facilities in Indonesia and Vietnam. Responding to the strong government push for the new energy ecosystem, TAILG’s Indonesia Regional Director, Chen Xinjie, believes that the domestic electric motorcycle market is entering a booming phase. To win the competition, Chen Xinjie outlined that TAILG will utilise their global supply chain advantages to accelerate the localisation process in Indonesia. This strategy includes building a massive distribution network, strengthening brand identity, and improving retail operational systems to provide comprehensive business support for their partners.
