TAG Heuer appoints Rivat as ambassador

JAKARTA (JP): Switzerland-based watch manufacturer TAG Heuer appointed on Friday Indonesian rally driver Rivat Sungkar as its first local ambassador to promote its values of mental strength and sportsmanship.

"Rivat is the first ambassador from Indonesia whose duty is not only promoting our brand but also promoting public awareness about time-keeping and watch-making," TAG Heuer's Asia Pacific deputy general manager Gilles Mangin told a news conference.

"He was appointed because he has shown qualities that are in line with our values, such as by being the national champion since 1998."

Rivat expects his appointment will further improve his achievement in the Asian region as well fulfill his ambition to go international. (nvn)
