Tabloid told to get license

KENDARI, Southeast Sulawesi: The provincial administration has asked the publisher of Wawasan, a weekly tabloid based in Kolaka, to cease publishing until it obtains a license, Antara said.

In a letter to the tabloid, the head of the Southeast Sulawesi office of the Ministry of Information warned the publishers that it was illegal to operate without a license.

The magazine, which first hit the streets in November, is published by the Foundation for the Study and Development of Southeast Sulawesi's Potential.

Wawasan is one of a number of new publications to emerge in recent months.
