Regent of Tabanan, I Komang Gede Sanjaya, officially opened the Musyawarah Perencanaan Pembangunan (Musrenbang) for the Draft Regional Government Work Plan (RKPD SB) of Tabanan Regency for 2027. The event, themed ‘Downstreaming and Building Ecosystems for Flagship Products’, serves as an annual strategic forum in formulating the direction of regional development.

The forum is directed towards addressing various development challenges in Tabanan Regency while realising community welfare that is Safe, Excellent, and Civilised (AUM). Sanjaya stated that development in Tabanan over the past few years has shown positive trends.

‘The progress of development in Tabanan up to today has essentially delivered tangible results in the direction of development to realise the welfare of Tabanan society,’ said Sanjaya in his remarks at Graha Yadnya Sanjayaning Singasana Adat Kota Tabanan on Tuesday (31/3/2026).

Sanjaya stressed the importance of innovation and hard work from the entire bureaucratic apparatus to continue accelerating development in Tabanan. He also touched on the need for appropriate development strategies amid uncertain global geopolitical conditions.

One of them is through downstreaming local potentials to meet community needs in various priority sectors. ‘Unite our steps, unite our hearts, unite our perceptions, that we are not only building Tabanan upstream and in the middle, but downstream. Downstreaming, because there are two important things: product downstreaming, and management system downstreaming,’ he added.

Sanjaya said efforts to build ecosystems for flagship products must create an integrated, mutually supportive, and sustainable business environment. According to him, main products cannot stand alone but must be supported by supply chains, additional services, innovation, and strong partnerships, especially in driving village economies.

The direction of development policies for Tabanan Regency in 2027 is focused on eight main priorities. These include strengthening food security; improving the quality of education and health; expanding social security and workforce competitiveness; strengthening customs, religion, traditions, arts, and culture.

Furthermore, developing village-based tourism; preserving the living environment; building equitable physical and digital infrastructure; and reforming bureaucracy and government governance.

Secretary of Bappeda Tabanan Regency, Ida Ayu Agung Windayani Kusumaharani, in her report explained that the implementation of the Musrenbang RKPD 2027 is mandated by Law Number 25 of 2004 on the National Development Planning System.

Windayani stated that this forum becomes a strategic space in aligning regional development programmes with Bali Province priorities, including supporting the New Era Bali vision towards a Safe, Excellent, and Civilised Tabanan.

According to Windayani, the preparation of the RKPD is carried out comprehensively through various stages, starting from public consultation forums, utilisation of SIPD, to the refinement of 1,396 proposals from the DPRD as well as Musrenbang involving various stakeholders.

‘The entire process aims to optimise local potentials to improve the welfare of Tabanan society,’ Windayani concluded.
