Tabanan Regency Targets Integrated Parking at Jatiluwih by End of 2026
The Tabanan Regency Government (Pemkab) is targeting the resolution of parking problems at the Jatiluwih tourist area in Penebel District by the end of 2026 or 2027. One of the solutions being prepared is the construction of an integrated parking facility at a single designated location.
Tabanan Regent I Komang Gede Sanjaya stated that the availability of parking land remains the primary challenge in managing the Jatiluwih destination. To date, limited parking areas and relatively narrow road conditions have frequently triggered congestion.
“This is evident when there is an event or festival at Jatiluwih, traffic flow often becomes jammed. Moreover, the roads in Jatiluwih are fairly narrow. Going forward, arriving tourists will be directed to park in one specific location,” Sanjaya said on Monday (22/6/2026).
Sanjaya explained that this centralised parking concept is not only intended to ease congestion but also to maintain the comfort and preservation of the Jatiluwih area. However, the realisation of the project is still awaiting a mutual agreement between the community, traditional leaders (pengempon pura), and the government.
Currently, the communication and deliberation process is ongoing to determine the location and management scheme.
“All parties must sit down together to find the best solution. Hopefully, our target can be achieved according to plan,” he stressed.
Parking issues remain a classic obstacle at the Jatiluwih Tourist Destination Area (DTW). The lack of parking space and limited road access often cause vehicle flow to stall when tourist visits increase significantly.
With the integrated parking facility, the arrangement of the Jatiluwih area is expected to become more orderly and sustainable.
