Tabanan Immigration Office Overwhelmed by Applicants Less Than Two Months After Opening
Since opening on 1 April 2026, the Tabanan Class III Immigration Office (Non-Checkpoint) has been flooded with applicants, both Indonesian citizens (WNI) and foreign nationals (WNA). Located in Delod Peken Village, Tabanan District, the office provides a range of immigration services.
Head of Tabanan Immigration Office, Andika Rahadiansyah, said the high public enthusiasm is reflected in the steady number of applicants, which averages in the tens each day. ‘The most sought-after services are passport issuance and extension of stay permits,’ Andika said on Tuesday, 19 May 2026.
He explained that in terms of passport services, applications are dominated by the online queue system M-Paspor. He said the passport issuance process is relatively quick. As long as there are no system issues, passports can be completed within four working days in accordance with the regulations.
‘Meanwhile, although registration is done online, the immigration authorities still provide convenience for priority groups,’ he asserted. The priority groups are: children under three years old, persons with disabilities, children with special needs, and pregnant women.
‘Therefore, for these priority groups, registration is not required, but they can come directly to the office,’ he added.
Meanwhile, for residence permits for foreign nationals, the process is conducted online via the official E-Visa website. Andika disclosed that after submission, applicants will receive an email notification to complete biometric recording at the immigration office.
On the other hand, for new passport issuance, the public are not restricted by domicile. According to him, applicants can obtain passports at any immigration office throughout Indonesia.
