Tabanan Agriculture Office Distributes 25 Tonnes of Rice Seeds and Corn Seedlings to Farmers
The Tabanan Regency Agriculture Office (Distan) has distributed more than 25 tonnes of hybrid rice seeds and corn seedlings to dozens of subak farming groups across several districts during 2026. The assistance is part of the Tabanan Regency Government’s programme to support agricultural sustainability.
Head of the Tabanan Regency Agriculture Office, I Gusti Putu Ekayana, stated that the total aid distributed reached 25.3 tonnes, comprising 23 tonnes of hybrid rice seeds and 2.32 tonnes of corn seedlings. “This assistance is a programme of the Tabanan Regency Government to help sustain agriculture in dozens of subak,” said Ekayana.
For corn seedlings, the office distributed 450 kg to Subak Serampingan in Serampingan Village, Selemadeg District, covering 30 hectares of land. Subak Gede Mambang in Mambang Village, East Selemadeg District, received 1.27 tonnes for 85 hectares, while Subak Penyalin in Samsam Village, Kerambitan District, received 600 kg for 40 hectares. The total corn seedling distribution amounted to 2,325 kg across 155 hectares.
For hybrid rice seeds, Subak Gebang Gading Bawah in Beraban Village, East Selemadeg District, received 1.75 tonnes for 70 hectares. Subak Begawan Kaja in Gunung Salak Village, East Selemadeg District, received 2.25 tonnes for 70 hectares, and Subak Begawan Kelod in the same village received 700 kg for 28 hectares. Subak Tingkih Tebel in Dalang Village, East Selemadeg District, received 1.1 tonnes for 44 hectares. Subak Aseman IA in Megati Village, East Selemadeg District, received 875 kg for 35 hectares, while Subak Aseman IB received 525 kg for 21 hectares. Subak Sesandan in Megati Village received 325 kg for 13 hectares, and Subak Aseman III received 475 kg for 19 hectares.
Subak Enggung in Penarukan Village, Kerambitan District, received 1.23 tonnes for 53 hectares. Subak Mumbu in Kukuh Village, Kerambitan District, received 1.2 tonnes for 28 hectares. Subak Timpag in Belumbang Village, Kerambitan District, received 2.8 tonnes for 112 hectares, and Subak Dalem in Kerambitan Village received 1.75 tonnes for 70 hectares. Subak Caguh in Sembung Gede Village, Kerambitan District, received 4.25 tonnes for 170 hectares. Subak Tiyinggading in Tiyinggading Village, West Selemadeg District, received 2.25 tonnes for 90 hectares. Subak Banjar Bengkel in Bengkel Sari Village, West Selemadeg District, received 625 kg for 25 hectares. Subak Labak Suren in Bengkel Sari Village received 425 kg for 17 hectares, and Subak Semaja received 375 kg for 15 hectares. The total distribution of hybrid rice seeds reached 23,000 kg across 920 hectares.
To support the entire process from planting to maintenance and harvest, the Tabanan Regency Agriculture Office also provides infrastructure and facilities. Fertilisers, including urea, SP-36, ZA, NPK, and organic types, are routinely provided to farmers each year. In addition, the Tabanan Regency Government, through the Agriculture Office, has distributed nearly a thousand units of farming equipment, such as two-wheel tractors, cultivators, hand sprayers, water pumps, three-wheeled vehicles, four-wheel tractors, rice transplanters, and crawler tractors, to more than 500 recipients or groups across all districts in Tabanan Regency. “The assistance is tailored to the conditions and needs of each area to ensure equitable distribution and prevent disparities,” he concluded.
