Tabalong Receives Award for Access to Educational Services

Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan, has achieved first place in the Batch II Regional Outstanding Local Government Awards for the Kalimantan region, specifically within the category of Resident Access to Educational Services at the regency level.

The award was presented during the Batch II Regional Outstanding Local Government Awards ceremony held in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, on Thursday (3/9).

Second place in this category was awarded to Hulu Sungai Tengah Regency, South Kalimantan, while third place went to Barito Selatan Regency, Central Kalimantan.

The award was presented by the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Bima Arya Sugiarto.

Financial incentives accompany the awards, with third place receiving Rp1 billion, second place receiving Rp1.5 billion, and first place receiving Rp2 billion.

The criteria for the ‘Resident Access to Educational Services’ category included local government efforts in the equitable distribution of teachers and learning facilities, the improvement of literacy and numeracy, and encouraging citizen participation to foster adaptive human resource quality.

It is hoped that this recognition will motivate regions to continue improving, innovating, and providing the best possible public services.

The Batch II Regional Kalimantan Outstanding Local Government Awards were organised by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagim) in collaboration with the Institute of Home Affairs Governance (IPDN).

The assessment was based on four categories: Resident Access to Educational Services, Implementation of the 3 Million Houses Programme, Waste and Environmental Management, and Access to and Quality of Healthcare Services.
