Syrian Professor Calls Indonesia a 'Human Bomb', Comparable to Pakistan's Nuclear Power

The Chairman of the Syrian University Association, Prof Muhammad Khaer Al-Ghubani, has referred to Indonesia as a ‘human bomb’, describing it as a major strength of the Muslim community that must be utilised to build civilisation. He also encouraged the establishment of research centres and a dedicated faculty for Quran-based crisis management. He made the remarks while speaking at the World Quranic Civilization Forum 1448 H at the SMESCO Exhibition Hall in Jakarta on Tuesday. According to him, Indonesia, as the country with the largest Muslim population in the world, possesses enormous human resource capital for the revival of the Islamic community. ‘Given that Indonesia is the largest Islamic country, every time I meet state leaders, princes, kings, and ministers, I always say that we have a human bomb that must be utilised, and that is Indonesia,’ said Prof Al-Ghubani. He compared this strength to Pakistan, which has nuclear capabilities. According to him, in addition to the ‘nuclear bomb’ in Pakistan, the Islamic world also has a ‘human bomb’ in Indonesia that is of no less value. ‘We have these two bombs. One is human, and I believe human development is more important than economic, political, or social development,’ he asserted. Prof Al-Ghubani stressed that human resource development is the main foundation for the progress of the community because humans are the centre of all development created by Allah SWT.
