The surge in artificial intelligence (AI) usage, big data analytics, and widespread operational digitalisation is pushing Indonesian companies to the brink of new challenges. Growing data volumes are increasing the risk of serious system disruptions. In an era reliant on real-time data, downtime is no longer merely a technical issue but an immediate threat to operational stability and financial health.

In response to this urgency, Synology has officially launched the PAS7700 in the Indonesian market. This is Synology’s first all-flash NVMe storage system featuring an active-active architecture, designed specifically to meet the demands of large-scale enterprise needs.

Storage infrastructure is now regarded as the backbone of modern business. Sectors requiring fast and stable data processing need guaranteed 24/7 system availability. The PAS7700 is designed to support critical workloads, including AI-based applications and high-performance data centre operations.

Synology Indonesia Country Manager Clara Hsu stated that the growing adoption of AI and system automation in Indonesia has significantly increased internal data centre workloads. ‘In an era where businesses increasingly rely on data, slow data access or system disruptions can hinder growth,’ she said in a statement. Hsu added that the PAS7700 is designed to upgrade existing infrastructure to handle rising data management demands. With its robust active-active architecture, the device provides a solid foundation for AI applications to run at full speed without interruption.

A key feature of the PAS7700 is its dual-controller active-active architecture. This technology ensures operations continue even if one component fails. Additionally, the system includes high-level security features such as automatic failover, triple-parity RAID protection, and synchronized in-memory write protection.

The technical specifications and performance details of the Synology PAS7700 are as follows: Beyond performance, Synology also emphasises cost efficiency. Exponential data growth often leads to inflated IT budgets. To address this, the PAS7700 integrates data deduplication technology, significantly reducing storage consumption while extending system lifespan.

Automatic tiering is also available, moving infrequently accessed older data to lower-cost secondary storage. This allows primary capacity to focus on high-speed active workloads.

Bie-i Chu, Executive Vice President of Synology’s NAS Group, stated that the PAS7700 is the result of over 25 years of industry experience. Prior to launch, the system underwent a year-long field validation through a proof-of-concept programme to ensure readiness for supporting modern business dynamics in Indonesia. (Z-1)

For high-capacity, uninterrupted data management, a forthcoming scale-out solution will support the growth of file and object storage.
