Synnex Metrodata Indonesia partners with Fastly to strengthen edge cloud and application security solutions
PT Synnex Metrodata Indonesia (SMI) has entered into a partnership with Fastly to expand the deployment of edge cloud and application security solutions in Indonesia, amid growing corporate demand for fast, secure and reliable digital infrastructure.
The partnership will broaden SMI’s cloud and cybersecurity services portfolio and provide wider access for various industry sectors to Fastly’s programmable edge cloud platform.
Through this collaboration, SMI will support partners and customers in implementing Fastly solutions, from pre-sales and implementation through to post-sales services and partner capability development.
Synnex Metrodata Indonesia Director Lie Heng said the partnership comes at a time when Indonesian organisations are increasing investment in data, cloud and cybersecurity.
“The partnership between PT Synnex Metrodata Indonesia and Fastly comes at a crucial moment, when organisations in Indonesia are prioritising investment in data and cybersecurity,” Lie Heng said in an official statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
He said the collaboration enables companies in Indonesia to leverage edge cloud technology, content delivery and application security solutions.
“By combining Fastly’s technology with SMI’s channel ecosystem and local expertise, we aim to help organisations accelerate digital transformation and deliver faster, more secure and more reliable digital experiences,” he said.
The partnership targets a number of sectors that are accelerating digital transformation, including banking, retail, telecommunications and digital-native companies.
As the use of digital applications, APIs and cloud infrastructure increases, the need for high-performance application delivery systems and robust cybersecurity also continues to grow.
Digital transformation in Indonesia is projected to continue expanding in the coming years. Developments in cloud technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and automation are also driving organisations to enhance their cybersecurity capabilities amid increasingly complex digital threats.
Through the partnership, SMI customers will gain access to a range of Fastly solutions, including content delivery, application and API security, edge computing and observability capabilities.
Edge cloud technology enables content, application and security decision processing to be carried out closer to users. This approach is expected to help reduce latency, improve service reliability and strengthen protection against cyber threats.
Fastly Area Vice President for Asia Rachel Ler said Indonesia is one of the markets with increasingly rapid digital development, driven by rising adoption of digital technology, AI and cloud.
“As this transformation accelerates, organisations need infrastructure capable of delivering strong performance and security at scale,” Rachel said.
She said the partnership with SMI is part of Fastly’s commitment to expanding support for digital transformation in Indonesia.
“This partnership combines Fastly’s edge cloud platform with SMI’s expertise in the Indonesian market and a strong channel ecosystem. Together, we are helping organisations build secure, resilient and high-performing digital experiences,” she said.
The partnership is expected to help organisations accelerate the adoption of digital technology while improving the security and resilience of application infrastructure amid the evolving cyber threat landscape.
