Synergy between PAM JAYA and DKI Jakarta TP PKK Distributes 270 Free Water Tanks in North Jakarta
PAM JAYA, the drinking water company, in synergy with the DKI Jakarta TP PKK (Tim Penggerak Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga), distributed 270 free water tanks to residents of North Jakarta (Jakut) on Wednesday (15/4/2026).
The activity is a follow-up to the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between TP PKK DKI Jakarta and Daya Wanita PAM JAYA regarding social assistance for Jakarta residents.
A total of 270 tanks were distributed to several areas in Jakut, including Dewa Ruci (43 tanks), Kelapa Gading (25 tanks), Muara Karang (111 tanks), Sunter (41 tanks), and Yos Sudarso (50 tanks). The event included symbolic handover of the aid and direct visits to the homes of beneficiaries.
He emphasised that all Jakarta residents deserve a better quality of life.
“The distribution of free water tanks is a short-term solution for residents in areas with low water pressure. We continue to strive to improve service coverage through infrastructure development and free new connection programmes for eligible residents,” said Syahrul in a press release received by Kompas.com on Wednesday.
According to him, the programme is very meaningful for Jakarta residents. This is because many capital city residents still buy water and do not have water storage facilities.
Throughout 2026, PAM JAYA targets the distribution of 2,000 free 300-litre water tanks gradually across all Jakarta areas.
The programme targets simple households, especially customers in categories 2A1 and 2A2, with building areas under 70 square metres.
The distribution took place at the Angke Interaktif Child-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA), Penjaringan Subdistrict, Jakut, marking the third phase of PAM JAYA’s free water tank distribution programme in collaboration with TP PKK DKI Jakarta.
In the first phase, 100 tanks were distributed to residents in Padamulya, Angke, West Jakarta (Jakbar), in January 2026.
In the second phase, PAM JAYA and TP PKK DKI Jakarta distributed 150 tanks to residents of Kamal Ward, Kalideres Subdistrict, Jakbar, in February 2026.
In its implementation, PAM JAYA partnered with TP PKK DKI Jakarta because it is considered to have concern for the community, especially women as the pillar of the family.
He added that the collaboration proves that synergy between agencies can provide direct impact on community welfare.
One of the aid recipients, Apsiah, admitted that the free water tank she received is very useful because she previously did not have a place to store water.
“The price of this tank is also very expensive if bought. Alhamdulillah, I got it for free. Now we can store water when the flow is available, so daily needs are more assured,” she said.
For information, the water tank distribution event in Jakut was attended by the Chair of TP PKK DKI Jakarta, Hani Pramono Anung, Chair of Daya Wanita PAM JAYA, Lya Arief Nasrudin, and TP PKK of the North Jakarta Administration City Government.
